Welcome To The StJ&FC Railroad

WELCOME! This isn't a very big site, but I do wish to share a little of my modelling experience with my visitors. The StJ got it's beginnings in 1989 and was supposed to be an HO layout. I completed it's first locomotive -- seen on the flat car behind #1508. Then I saw my first G Scale car, an Aristocraft gondola lettered for the Central Vermont, my favorite railroad. I purchased it and have not looked back since. I've been a model railroader all my life and must say that I'm an addict.

I love the old GP9's and think they look swell pulling a short string of passenger cars. Thus this one was modified to be a true passenger Geep. You will note that it has a full length fuel/water tank rather than the shortie that USA Trains provides. I'm giving it a workout on a nice summer day in 2004 on Steve Hughes' layout in Otis Orchards Wa.

Currently all I have is an indoor layout in my basement. I've started an outdoor garden layout several times but each time I've changed my mind and started all over. I'm most likely to do that again. I'm just getting too old to get on my knees so I think I'm going to build it up on tables. I've seen what a couple others have done and I've liked what I've seen. This is a view of my indoor layout. This picture was taken 3 years ago and unfortunately it has not progressed much since....just more clutter.

This is looking the opposite direction on my layout. The Dash 9's are a tad to big for it but they do make it around.
